ShortageLoop

ShortageLoop is a web + mobile AI app that helps small retailers and community organizations anticipate and respond to everyday resource scarcity (water, fuel, staples, meds, batteries). It combines three signals: supplier lead times (from invoices/POs), local demand proxies (POS sell-through or manual counts), and public data (weather alerts, port delays, regional outage reports). The app turns messy inputs into a simple “risk clock” per item: green/yellow/red with an estimated depletion date and recommended actions (substitute SKUs, reorder earlier, cap per-customer quantities, or coordinate swaps with nearby stores). It’s not a magic oracle—forecasts will be wrong sometimes—but it’s far better than gut feel and last-minute panic ordering. The MVP focuses on a narrow set of categories and integrates with one POS system plus CSV uploads to stay realistic.
