ShrineStream
ShrineStream is a mobile + web app for “virtual pilgrimage” that feels less like a pre-recorded documentary and more like a real visit. Users book scheduled, live video walk-throughs of holy sites led by vetted local guides (monks, volunteers, certified guides) who follow a standardized route: entrance rituals, key stations, prayer moments, and Q&A. The app provides denomination-specific “liturgy cards” (what to say/do, respectful etiquette), optional donation/offerings that go directly to the site, and time-zone friendly sessions. It also supports accessibility modes (captions, audio-first, low-bandwidth stream) for elderly or mobility-limited users. This is not trying to replace physical pilgrimage; it’s a practical alternative when travel is impossible (cost, health, visas, conflict). Monetization: per-session tickets, group bookings for congregations, and subscriptions for monthly pilgrimages.
