SidewalkFix
SidewalkFix is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that lets pedestrians quickly report walking hazards—broken sidewalks, missing curb ramps, blocked paths, poor lighting, icy patches, aggressive construction detours—with a photo, GPS pin, and a short severity tag. Reports are automatically routed to the correct city/agency using geofenced jurisdiction maps and standardized templates (311, DOT, parks, campus facilities). Users can follow a “case timeline” showing acknowledgements, status changes, and duplicate-merge counts, so it doesn’t feel like shouting into the void. The app focuses on proof and accountability: time-stamped photos, optional short video, and a public map of unresolved hazards. It also offers “safe detour” suggestions based on recent hazard density (not perfect, but better than nothing). Monetization is realistic: sell a SaaS dashboard to municipalities/campuses and offer paid analytics on hotspots and response times.
