SidewalkSaga

SidewalkSaga is a mobile app that turns short neighborhood walks into playful, parent-controlled scavenger hunts and movement challenges for kids ages 5–10. Parents pick a route length (5–30 minutes) and the app generates simple prompts that use what’s already around: “Find a red door,” “Hop to the next tree,” “Spot three circles,” or “Count five steps then freeze.” It avoids AR gimmicks and focuses on getting kids outside with minimal setup. A “Safe Zone” mode lets parents pre-approve boundaries and disables competitive leaderboards to reduce unhealthy comparison. The app includes offline-friendly packs for parks, sidewalks, malls, and rainy-day indoor hallways. It’s not a miracle cure for screen addiction—kids still need a parent to initiate the activity—but it makes starting outdoor play easier and more consistent for busy families.
