SignalSage

SignalSage is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that focuses on one ugly reality: navigation often fails exactly where you need it most—tunnels, rural roads, mountains, and disaster zones with weak or no connectivity. It pre-builds “offline-ready” routes by downloading only the map tiles, turn-by-turn instructions, and critical POIs you’ll actually need, then continuously monitors signal quality to proactively switch to an offline guidance mode before you lose service. The app also lets users create and share lightweight “route packs” (e.g., a hiking trailhead drive, a backcountry delivery loop, evacuation routes) that include notes, hazards, and last-known road conditions. AI is used conservatively: to summarize community reports, detect likely closures from patterns, and recommend what to cache based on your calendar and habits. The goal is reliability over novelty.
