SignalShade
SignalShade is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that predicts real-world cellular performance at a specific spot and time—before you drive there. It combines crowdsourced speed tests, passive signal telemetry (opt-in), terrain/building context, and carrier tower data to estimate “likely usable” connectivity for calls, hotspots, and video meetings. Users can drop pins for campsites, job sites, event venues, or commuting routes and get a simple reliability score plus best-carrier suggestions. It also supports offline caching of maps and predictions for remote areas. This is not a magic map of perfect truth: predictions will be wrong in edge cases, and coverage can change quickly. But for people who lose money or safety when they’re offline, a probabilistic forecast is far better than carrier marketing maps. Monetization: subscription for pros, plus team seats for field operations.
