SignalShed
SignalShed is a mobile + web app for rural communities to collect credible, auditable evidence of poor connectivity and turn it into actionable coverage maps for ISPs, regulators, and grant programs. Residents run lightweight tests (latency, throughput, packet loss) that automatically capture device model, carrier, radio tech, and GPS with privacy controls. The system aggregates results into standardized reports aligned to common broadband challenge/verification processes, highlighting persistent dead zones and time-of-day congestion. Local leaders can recruit testers, manage campaigns, and export submissions for funding applications or formal complaints. This is not a “speedtest clone”: it focuses on statistically defensible sampling, tamper resistance, and documentation workflows that rural areas actually need to win disputes and unlock subsidies. It’s a traditional app with targeted AI for anomaly detection and data quality scoring.
