SignShift

SignShift is a mobile + web AI app that converts sign language conversations into readable, time-stamped notes and action items for classes, meetings, and appointments. Using the phone camera (or laptop webcam), it tracks hands, face, and body cues, then produces a transcript-like summary with speaker turns and key decisions. It’s not trying to be a perfect “ASL-to-English translator” (which is still unreliable in the real world); it’s a practical note-taking and documentation tool that tolerates imperfect recognition by focusing on intent, keywords, and follow-up tasks. Users can correct segments, save custom vocabulary (names, jargon), and export to Google Docs/PDF. The app is designed for Deaf/HoH users, interpreters, and organizations that need compliant documentation. Brutal truth: accuracy will vary by signer, lighting, and camera angle—so the product wins by being useful even when imperfect.
