SignSync

SignSync is a mobile + web app that helps Deaf and hard-of-hearing people participate in everyday conversations and appointments without begging others to “just repeat it.” It combines real-time speech-to-text captions with a one-tap option to connect to a remote sign language interpreter (human) when captions aren’t enough (accents, crosstalk, medical/legal terms). Users can save transcripts, flag unclear segments, and export notes for follow-ups. Organizations (clinics, banks, universities, employers) get a lightweight web dashboard to generate session links, manage interpreter coverage windows, and handle basic compliance logging. This is not magic: it won’t work well in very noisy environments or with poor internet, and interpreter availability is the hardest operational constraint. But when it works, it materially reduces exclusion in high-stakes interactions where misunderstandings have real consequences.
