SignTrace

SignTrace is a web + mobile app that helps venues validate wayfinding and signage by measuring what people actually do, not what designers assume. Admins generate short-lived QR/NFC “checkpoints” for key decision points (entrances, elevators, corridor forks, service desks). Visitors optionally scan as they move (prompted by small incentives like faster check-in or a raffle), producing anonymized path sequences and time-to-destination metrics. The dashboard highlights confusion hotspots (loops, backtracks, long dwell), compares alternative sign placements, and outputs a prioritized fix list with estimated impact. It won’t magically replace full indoor positioning—most buildings won’t install that—but it provides defensible, low-cost evidence for what to change. Reports are packaged for stakeholders: facilities, brand, compliance, and accessibility teams.
