SilkTrace

SilkTrace is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for silk and insect-product supply chains to capture and verify provenance and quality claims from cocoon lot to finished fabric. It targets a real problem: buyers can’t reliably validate “mulberry,” “peace/ahimsa,” organic, or region-of-origin claims, and small producers struggle to access premium markets. The MVP focuses on batch-level traceability, standardized test result uploads (denier, tensile strength, degumming loss, dye fastness), and QR-linked product passports for B2B sales. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to extract data from lab PDFs/invoices, flag inconsistencies, and generate compliance-ready documentation packs. This is not a consumer marketplace; it’s a boring ops tool for brands, mills, traders, and cooperatives that need audit trails and fewer chargebacks.
