SIPCSnap
SIPCSnap is a mobile + web app that helps individual investors understand what happens to their money if their brokerage fails. Users connect accounts (or enter holdings manually) and the app maps each position and cash balance to coverage buckets (SIPC vs. non-SIPC, cash sweep programs, margin loans, crypto exposure, foreign custody, and concentrated single-broker risk). It generates a plain-English “failure scenario” report: what’s likely protected, what’s not, estimated recovery timelines, and concrete steps to reduce uncovered exposure (e.g., moving excess cash, splitting accounts, disabling margin, avoiding certain products). It also monitors changes like new cash sweeps, broker policy updates, and account type changes that can alter coverage. This is not portfolio advice; it’s operational risk clarity for people who assume “my broker is safe” without understanding the fine print.
