SkillSignal is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that helps organizations locate the best internal expert for a specific problem in minutes. It indexes signals you already have—docs, wikis, tickets, PRs, meeting notes, and chat—then builds an evidence-backed “expertise graph” showing who has actually solved similar issues, not who claims they can. Users type a question, select constraints (timezone, availability, seniority, compliance), and get ranked matches with citations (links to the exact artifacts that justify the match). It also supports lightweight “office hours” booking and handoff templates so the expert doesn’t waste time re-asking basics. This is an AI + traditional app: AI for semantic search, entity resolution, and ranking; traditional workflows for permissions, scheduling, and audit trails. It’s realistic but not magic—garbage inputs and locked-down systems will limit results.
