SkyAlertIQ
SkyAlertIQ is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that sends high-confidence alerts for auroras, meteor showers, ISS passes, and notable satellite events based on your exact location, local weather, light pollution, and personal preferences. Instead of spamming generic “tonight might be good” notifications, it scores each event’s real visibility window and tells you when to step outside, where to look, and what you’ll likely see. It also includes a simple “go/no-go” forecast for the next 72 hours, plus a one-tap checklist for gear and camera settings. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional astronomy/space data pipelines plus AI to fuse noisy signals (cloud cover, KP forecasts, user feedback) into a practical visibility score. The goal is to reduce missed opportunities and wasted late-night trips, especially for casual stargazers who don’t want to learn space weather jargon.
