SkyClaim

SkyClaim is a mobile + web app that verifies astrophotography and “what is this in the sky?” posts using real star catalogs and satellite ephemerides. Users upload a photo (or paste a social link), and the app plate-solves it to identify stars/constellations, checks for common fakes (reused NASA images, mismatched star fields, impossible moon size), and flags likely satellites/Starlink/ISS streaks. It outputs a shareable “verification card” with location/time confidence, identified objects, and a plain-English explanation. This is not a magic truth machine: cloudy photos, heavy edits, or unknown locations reduce certainty, and the app will say so. The value is credibility and education for creators, moderators, and communities drowning in mislabeled or AI-generated space imagery. Monetization: creator subscriptions for batch verification and watermarking, plus moderation tools for communities.
