SkyRoute Watchdog
SkyRoute Watchdog is a brutally honest monitoring and mapping web + mobile app that shows how satellite internet actually performs where people live and work, not what providers claim on glossy coverage maps. It crowdsources real latency, jitter, packet loss, and throughput data from users’ routers and devices, then aggregates and visualizes it on a geospatial map with time-of-day and weather overlays. Users can compare providers (Starlink, Viasat, HughesNet, regional players) by real performance, not advertised speeds, and get alerts when performance drops below agreed thresholds so they can document issues for support or contract disputes. The app also tracks fair-use policy throttling and congestion periods, so users can see when they’re being slowed down and for how long. For small ISPs and WISPs reselling satellite backhaul, SkyRoute Watchdog provides anonymized analytics and API access so they can proactively manage customer expectations and plan upgrades. This is not a feel-good tool; it exposes where satellite internet sucks and where it’s finally good enough to trust.
