SLOSentinel
SLOSentinel is a web app (with optional lightweight desktop agent) for monitoring and control focused on one thing: keeping service-level objectives honest and actionable. It ingests metrics from existing stacks (Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch) and turns them into SLOs, error budgets, and burn-rate alerts that don’t spam. The control piece is automated guardrails: when burn rate spikes, it can trigger safe, pre-approved actions like scaling a service, pausing a risky deployment, or throttling non-critical jobs. It also produces a weekly “reliability ledger” showing which teams consumed error budget and why, so leadership stops arguing over anecdotes. This is not a full observability suite; it intentionally avoids log/trace bloat and focuses on the reliability decisions teams actually make. Setup aims to be under an hour for a first SLO and alert.
