SnapRestore
SnapRestore is a web + lightweight desktop agent that automatically verifies whether your backups are actually restorable. Instead of trusting “backup succeeded” logs, it periodically spins up isolated test restores (VM/container or file-level), checks integrity (hashes, permissions, app consistency), and produces a simple pass/fail score with evidence. It supports common targets like S3-compatible object storage, NAS shares, and popular backup tools via plugins. When a restore test fails, it pinpoints the likely cause (missing snapshots, corrupted archives, expired credentials, retention misconfig, ransomware-encrypted files) and suggests the exact fix. Reports are audit-friendly for SOC 2/ISO 27001 and can be scheduled for executives vs. engineers. This is not a backup product; it’s a verification layer that reduces the “we thought we had backups” nightmare and shortens recovery time when incidents happen.
