SoilScout
SoilScout is a mobile + web app for agronomists, conservation staff, and researchers who collect soil observations in the field and later waste hours cleaning them up. It standardizes soil pit descriptions (horizons, texture by feel, structure, color, roots, mottles, moisture), captures GPS + photos offline, and generates clean, export-ready records for reports and GIS. An AI assistant helps transcribe voice notes, suggests USDA texture classes from user-entered ribbon/feel cues, and flags inconsistent entries (e.g., impossible horizon sequences or missing metadata). The app is realistic: it does not claim to replace lab tests or professional judgment; it simply reduces paperwork and improves consistency. Outputs include PDF pit logs, CSV/GeoJSON exports, and a simple map of sampled points. Pricing is per-seat for organizations, with a limited free tier for students.
