SolarProof
SolarProof is a web + mobile app (traditional app with light AI) that helps homeowners validate solar installer proposals using their real utility interval data. Users connect their utility account (where available) or upload bills, then enter the quoted system size, panel/inverter models, financing terms, and promised production. The app simulates expected generation using location, roof orientation, shading estimates, and historical weather, then compares it to the installer’s claims and calculates realistic payback, IRR, and worst/best-case scenarios. It flags common proposal tricks: inflated production assumptions, unrealistic degradation, hidden escalators, and net-metering rule mismatches. The output is a plain-English “proposal scorecard” and a list of questions to ask the installer. This isn’t a marketplace; it’s a consumer protection calculator that reduces expensive decision mistakes and increases confidence when solar is actually a good fit.
