SoloShift

SoloShift is a mobile + web app that helps single parents handle sudden schedule shocks (late shifts, sick days, school closures) by arranging vetted, short-notice childcare swaps within trusted micro-communities. Users join a “Circle” based on school, daycare, neighborhood, or employer, complete identity checks, and set availability and kid profiles (allergies, pickup permissions). When a disruption hits, you post a request (time, location, needs) and the app pings matching Circle members. It includes simple reciprocity tracking (hours given/received), optional paid “thank-you” payouts, and a one-tap “pickup authorization” note for schools. This is not a marketplace competing with babysitter platforms; it’s a coordination layer for people who already share proximity and incentives to help. AI assists with matching, conflict checks, and drafting clear request messages, but the core value is network + trust.
