SoundBeacon is a mobile + web app that turns a spare phone/tablet into a simple, calibrated classroom noise display and log. Teachers place the device at a consistent spot; the app shows a color band (green/yellow/red) and a “reset” timer for activities like independent work, group work, and transitions. It also records noise trends by period and activity type so teachers can spot patterns (e.g., last 7 minutes of group work always spikes) and adjust routines. The realistic value isn’t perfect decibel accuracy—it’s consistency, visibility, and quick reporting for classroom norms and admin conversations. Optional AI features summarize weekly patterns and suggest small, evidence-based interventions (seating change, chunking tasks, transition cues) without pretending to diagnose behavior. It’s designed to be low-friction: start/stop, choose activity, and teach with a glance.
