SoundScout is a mobile app (with an optional parent web dashboard) that helps parents and schools run quick, repeatable hearing check-ins for kids aged 3–12 using calibrated, guided headphone tests. It’s not a medical diagnosis and it won’t replace an audiologist—results are “risk flags” that suggest when to seek professional testing. The app runs short tone and speech-in-noise games, tracks consistency over time, and highlights sudden drops that often get missed between annual screenings. A simple setup flow verifies compatible headphones and ambient noise levels, then locks the test into a kid-friendly mode. Parents get clear next steps: what the result means, what to re-test, and how to share a standardized report with a pediatrician or school nurse. The realistic value is convenience, trend tracking, and better follow-through—not miracle accuracy.
