SourceGuard is a web + mobile app for small and mid-sized water utilities to log, triage, and investigate potential source-water contamination events before they become boil-water notices. Operators can capture field observations (odor, color, fish kill, algae bloom), attach photos, and pin locations on a map, then route incidents through a simple workflow (new → investigating → mitigated). The app pulls in public upstream signals (rainfall spikes, river gauges, wildfire smoke/heat proxies, and known discharge permits) and generates a risk score and recommended next steps checklist. It also maintains an audit trail for internal reviews and regulator reporting. This is not a “magic AI predicts everything” product; it’s a pragmatic incident system that reduces time-to-awareness and standardizes response across shifts, contractors, and partner agencies.
