SourceSleuth
SourceSleuth is a mobile + web AI-assisted media literacy tool that helps people sanity-check viral posts, screenshots, and short clips in under two minutes. Users paste a link, upload an image, or drop in a quote; the app extracts key claims, identifies what would need to be true, and guides the user through a lightweight verification flow: original-source tracing, context recovery (date/location), and credibility signals (author history, domain reputation, funding/ownership where available). It doesn’t pretend to be a “truth machine”—it outputs a confidence range, shows its evidence trail, and highlights what it cannot verify. A “Share Card” summarizes findings in plain language so users can post corrections without writing an essay. For schools and newsrooms, it offers assignment mode, rubrics, and audit logs. The product lives or dies on speed, clarity, and not overclaiming.
