SousSentry

SousSentry is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that acts like a “cook babysitter” for sous vide sessions. You scan a QR code on your bag or container, pick the protein/cut, thickness, starting temp, and target doneness, and it runs a timer that accounts for pasteurization time and hold limits. The app sends escalating notifications when you hit key milestones: safe-to-eat, peak texture window, and “quality dropping” warnings for long holds. It also includes a simple chill-and-reheat mode for meal prep, with guidance for ice bath timing and safe fridge storage. This is a traditional app with a small AI layer: AI is used only to interpret thickness from a quick photo next to a reference card and to suggest time/temperature defaults. It’s not trying to replace serious recipe sites—just prevent expensive mistakes.
