SpanSense

SpanSense is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that helps leaders stress-test organizational designs using real workload signals instead of gut feel. It ingests lightweight inputs—role inventory, recurring meetings, project portfolio, decision rights, and headcount—and produces a “span & layer health” view: overloaded managers, too many layers, unclear ownership, and duplicated functions. It includes a scenario builder to compare two or three org options (e.g., by product, by function, by region) and shows downstream impacts on cost, decision latency, and coordination load. It’s not a full HRIS replacement; it’s a focused diagnostic and planning tool for org design cycles. An AI assistant can summarize risks, generate draft role charters, and flag likely failure points, but the core value is the structured model and comparisons.
