SpareScout

SpareScout is a web + mobile app for maintenance teams to locate, cross-reference, and procure machine spare parts without tribal knowledge. Users snap a photo of a worn component or nameplate, enter a few measurements, and the app suggests likely part families, compatible alternates, and supplier options. It also builds a lightweight internal catalog by linking parts to specific assets, BOMs, and past work orders, so the next failure is faster to resolve. The goal isn’t “perfect AI”; it’s reducing the time wasted searching emails, binders, and vendor portals while a line sits idle. The MVP focuses on quick identification, internal reuse of prior purchases, and a simple approval flow. It integrates with common CMMS/ERP exports via CSV to avoid long enterprise implementations.
