SparkSpread is a web app (with optional desktop companion) for energy professionals who need fast, defensible views of power-market spreads and drivers. It ingests day-ahead/real-time power prices, gas hub prices, and emissions costs, then calculates spark/dark spreads by region and plant-type assumptions. The AI layer summarizes what moved spreads today (weather, outages, congestion, fuel moves) and flags unusual regime shifts with plain-English explanations and links to source data. Users can set alerts for threshold breaches (e.g., negative spreads, volatility spikes) and export charts/tables for internal notes. This is not a full trading platform; it’s a decision-support and monitoring tool aimed at speed and clarity. Realistically, the hardest part is reliable data licensing and normalization—without that, the app is useless.
