SpecLint

SpecLint is a web app + CLI that scans your HTML/CSS/JS and flags likely web-standards violations with links to the exact normative spec text. Instead of generic lint rules, it focuses on interoperability risk: deprecated APIs, ambiguous behaviors, missing accessibility-required attributes, incorrect ARIA usage, invalid CSS values that browsers silently drop, and platform features with known cross-browser footguns. It outputs a “Standards Risk Report” per commit and can block merges when risk exceeds a threshold. It also tracks your project’s standards debt over time, so teams can prioritize fixes that actually reduce production bugs. This is not magic: it won’t prove conformance, and it won’t replace real testing. The goal is to be a practical early-warning system that saves engineering time by preventing avoidable cross-browser regressions and spec-noncompliant patterns from shipping.
