SpecLock

SpecLock is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that standardizes and enforces product specifications across B2B purchasing before orders are placed. Buyers create “spec sheets” for recurring items (packaging, chemicals, components, MRO parts) with required fields, acceptable tolerances, compliance docs, and approved alternates. Suppliers list against those specs, upload certificates, and confirm capability; the system flags mismatches and missing documentation automatically. It also tracks spec versions so procurement doesn’t accidentally reorder an outdated revision, and it creates an audit trail for QA and finance. This is not a broad marketplace trying to beat incumbents on catalog size; it’s a workflow layer that sits between ERP and suppliers to prevent expensive mistakes, returns, and production downtime. It’s realistic because it targets a narrow, high-cost failure: wrong or non-compliant materials getting purchased.
