SpecSnap

SpecSnap is a web app (with optional desktop plugin later) that helps industrial designers and hardware teams convert scattered inputs—emails, meeting notes, sketches, CAD screenshots, and supplier quotes—into a structured Product Requirements Document and manufacturing-ready spec pack. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: AI extracts dimensions, materials, finishes, tolerances, compliance needs, and open questions; traditional workflows enforce versioning, approvals, and traceability. The app outputs clean PDFs and shareable links for factories, plus a change log that highlights what changed between revisions (and what it impacts: cost, lead time, tooling, risk). Realistically, it won’t “design for you”; it reduces the constant rework and miscommunication that kills schedules. The goal is fewer spec gaps, fewer supplier back-and-forth cycles, and faster handoff from design to engineering/manufacturing.
