SpecSnap

SpecSnap is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that helps shoppers identify tablets and e-readers in seconds and decide if they’re worth buying. Point your camera at a device (front, back, ports, model text), and the app estimates the exact model, storage, screen type, and likely generation—even when listings are vague or sellers don’t know. It then shows a realistic price range for your region, common failure checks (battery health, screen uniformity, dead pixels, stylus/charging issues), and a simple “buy/skip” risk score. For used purchases, it generates a short checklist you can message to the seller and a quick in-person inspection flow. It also flags compatibility for your needs (note-taking, Kindle/Libby, kids profiles, stylus latency, app support) and warns about models nearing end-of-support. It’s designed to reduce expensive mistakes, not to be a review site.
