SpecSnap

SpecSnap helps shoppers avoid getting scammed on used electronics by verifying a device’s real specs and health in minutes. It’s a mobile app that guides you through a quick on-device diagnostic (battery health, storage, screen, sensors, serial/IMEI where permitted) and produces a shareable “Device Report” you can send to buyers/sellers or use during meetups. It also flags common red flags: mismatched model identifiers, suspicious refurb indicators, replaced parts warnings (when detectable), and price-vs-condition anomalies based on recent sold listings. The app is brutally pragmatic: it won’t magically detect everything, and it will clearly label what it can’t verify. Monetization is straightforward—free basic checks, paid advanced reports, and optional escrow/meetup safety add-ons. The goal is to reduce regret purchases and negotiation friction in Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, and local meetups.
