SpecSnap

SpecSnap is a web + desktop app that standardizes and accelerates materials characterization workflows by turning messy spectroscopy and diffraction files into clean, comparable results. Users drag-and-drop Raman/FTIR/XRD data, the app auto-detects format, runs baseline correction, smoothing, peak finding, and generates a reproducible report with parameters logged. An AI assistant suggests preprocessing settings, flags likely artifacts (fluorescence, cosmic spikes, preferred orientation), and proposes candidate phase/functional-group matches using user-approved libraries. The core value is not “magic identification,” but consistent, auditable processing and sharing across teams and instruments. It exports publication-ready plots, a methods section draft, and a JSON “analysis recipe” so results can be rerun later. Realistically, it won’t replace expert interpretation; it removes the repetitive, error-prone steps that slow labs down and cause irreproducible comparisons.
