SpecSnipe

SpecSnipe is a mobile + web app that helps shoppers and enthusiasts compare sports cars and coupes using real-world ownership costs and option/package clarity, not just horsepower hype. Users pick 3–7 candidate models (new or used), set priorities (handling feel, comfort, reliability, tuning potential, resale), and the app generates a ranked shortlist with transparent tradeoffs. It pulls listings, decodes VINs/window stickers where available, flags missing or misleading options, and estimates monthly cost including insurance bands, fuel, tires, brakes, and common maintenance intervals. The app also includes “deal sanity checks” that compare a listing against local comps and typical depreciation curves, plus a checklist for test drives and pre-purchase inspections tailored to each model. This is an AI-assisted app (for summarizing tradeoffs and detecting option gaps) with traditional data pipelines for pricing and VIN decoding.
