SpectraForge

SpectraForge is a web + desktop app for amateur astronomers, university labs, and small observatories that captures, calibrates, and analyzes astronomical spectra without requiring a full research pipeline. Users ingest raw spectrograph files (or FITS), run guided calibration (bias/dark/flat, wavelength solution via lamp or reference lines), and get clean 1D spectra with line identification, redshift estimates, and basic classification (e.g., emission-line nebula vs. stellar types). It exports publication-ready plots, CSVs, and a reproducible “analysis recipe” so results can be shared with collaborators or attached to observing logs. The AI component is optional: it suggests likely line IDs, flags suspicious artifacts (cosmic rays, saturation), and recommends next calibration steps based on metadata. This is not a replacement for professional pipelines; it’s a practical bridge for people who currently get stuck in scripts and inconsistent workflows.
