SpectraSift

SpectraSift is a web app (with optional desktop companion) for astrobiology researchers and advanced amateurs to quickly sanity-check potential biosignature detections in exoplanet and planetary spectra. Users upload spectra (or paste tabular data), select instrument/mission templates, and run a standardized pipeline: baseline correction, line identification, contamination checks (tellurics, stellar activity proxies), and simple Bayesian model comparison between abiotic vs biotic explanations. An AI assistant helps interpret outputs, flags common failure modes, and generates a shareable “claim audit” report with assumptions, priors, and sensitivity analysis. This is not a discovery engine; it’s a decision-support tool that reduces false excitement and helps teams decide whether a signal is worth deeper follow-up. Expect conservative outputs and explicit uncertainty rather than hype.
