SpendConfess

SpendConfess is a mobile + web AI-assisted journaling and budgeting companion for people who feel shame after spending. Instead of pretending every purchase is “fine,” it helps users name the emotion, identify the trigger (stress, boredom, social pressure), and separate “values spending” from “avoidance spending.” Users log a purchase in 20 seconds, then the app guides a short, structured reflection and generates one realistic repair action (e.g., pause a subscription, set a cap for eating out, or schedule a no-spend day). It includes a “shame spiral” mode: a 3-minute script that stops catastrophizing and prevents revenge spending. The app does not replace therapy; it’s a practical behavior tool with optional exportable summaries for a coach/therapist. It integrates with bank feeds but works manually for privacy-first users.
