SpendFence

SpendFence is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams bot) for cloud spend governance that enforces budgets and policy controls at the moment spend is created—not weeks later in billing dashboards. It connects to AWS, Azure, and GCP to map every resource to an owner, cost center, and environment, then applies guardrails like mandatory tags, approved instance families, region restrictions, and budget thresholds. When a team tries to deploy outside policy, SpendFence can block, require approval, or auto-downgrade to a cheaper option. It also detects “silent burners” (orphaned disks, idle databases, forgotten test clusters) and routes them to the right owner with a deadline before auto-remediation. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps classify ownership, predict overruns, and draft policy exceptions, but core enforcement is deterministic and auditable.
