SpillSense

SpillSense is a web + mobile AI app for small-to-mid hydropower operators to predict and prevent oil leaks, coolant spills, and sediment discharge incidents that trigger regulatory reporting, fines, and forced outages. It connects to existing SCADA/PLC tags (where available) and also supports low-cost add-on sensors (tank level, turbidity, vibration) for plants with limited instrumentation. The app continuously flags abnormal patterns, estimates likelihood of an environmental exceedance, and generates a clear “what to check next” checklist for on-call technicians. It also streamlines incident documentation: time-stamped evidence, corrective actions, and exportable reports aligned to common regulatory templates. This is not a glossy dashboard; it’s a pragmatic risk-reduction tool that reduces downtime and paperwork. Expect initial setup work per site—hydro data is messy—and the product must prove value within 1-2 incidents avoided per year to stick.
