SplitCart

SplitCart is a mobile + web app that lets neighbors and friends form small buying groups for everyday items (groceries, household staples, pet food) and unlock bulk pricing without committing to huge quantities alone. Users create a “cart room,” share a link, and each person claims quantities until the group hits a price break. The app then routes the order to partnered local stores or wholesalers for pickup/delivery, and automatically splits payment so nobody has to chase Venmo requests. It’s realistic because it focuses on repeat purchases where savings are predictable, not flashy one-off deals. The hard part is supply and fulfillment: SplitCart starts city-by-city with a few reliable partners and limited SKUs, then expands. It’s not magic—margins are thin and ops matter—but it can work if it stays disciplined and local-first.
