SplitLock

SplitLock is a web app + lightweight mobile companion that lets groups pay a single online checkout together without awkward reimbursements. A host creates a “pay room,” pastes the cart total (or connects via merchant link/receipt), and invites others by link. Each person chooses their share (equal, items-based, or custom) and pays with card/Apple Pay/Google Pay. Once the full amount is collected, SplitLock issues one consolidated payment to the merchant via a virtual card or hosted checkout, and sends everyone an itemized receipt. It’s built for real-world friction: partial payments, dropouts, deadlines, and automatic rebalancing if someone backs out. It also supports group rules (e.g., “no one pays more than $50”) and optional tips/fees. This is not magic: it works best with merchants that accept card payments and won’t cover every edge case like in-store chip-only terminals.
