StackAudit

StackAudit is a web app (with an optional mobile scanning companion) that helps small-to-mid libraries and archives find what’s actually missing, mis-shelved, or duplicated—without buying expensive RFID systems. Staff export a catalog slice (CSV/MARC-derived fields), then do quick aisle “sweeps” using a phone camera to scan barcodes/QR labels. The app reconciles scans against the catalog, flags anomalies (missing, wrong location, unexpected copy counts), and produces actionable lists by shelf range and priority. It also tracks recurring problem areas, creating a simple heatmap of collection disorder over time. This is not glamorous work, but it’s the kind that burns staff hours and creates patron frustration. StackAudit focuses on pragmatic workflows: lightweight setup, offline scanning mode, and clean reports for supervisors and auditors.
