StackScout

StackScout is a web app (with a lightweight browser extension) that recommends developer tools—libraries, SaaS services, CI/CD add-ons, monitoring, security scanners—based on your actual codebase and workflow. It connects to GitHub/GitLab, reads dependency files and config (package.json, requirements.txt, Dockerfile, Terraform, CI pipelines), and builds a “stack fingerprint.” Then it suggests compatible tools with clear tradeoffs: cost, learning curve, lock-in risk, maturity, and integration steps. The goal is to stop teams from wasting weeks on shiny tools that don’t fit their stack or constraints. This is an AI app + traditional app combination: AI ranks and explains recommendations, while deterministic rules enforce compatibility and compliance constraints. Monetization is B2B: per-seat or per-repo subscriptions for startups and mid-market engineering teams, plus an enterprise tier for policy controls and audit trails.
