StainScout is a mobile + web AI-assisted inspection companion for secondhand furniture listings. Sellers record a guided 30–60 second video (prompts: corners, seams, underside, joints), and the app generates a condition report with highlighted wear zones, likely material type, and a realistic “repairability” rating (easy/medium/hard) plus estimated DIY or pro fix cost ranges. Buyers can request a StainScout report link before committing, reducing surprises and returns. The app also creates a standardized condition badge that can be attached to listings on any marketplace (not a new marketplace itself), and stores a shareable history for repeat sellers. Monetization is straightforward: pay-per-report for casual users, and subscriptions for resellers/consignment shops. This doesn’t magically stop scams, but it materially improves trust and decision speed for high-friction items like sofas, tables, and dressers.
