StandbySnipe helps households and small offices identify “always-on” electricity waste from appliances and devices. The app pairs with a common smart plug (or reads your whole-home smart meter if available) to run short, guided tests: plug in a TV, console, printer, router, etc., then the app measures idle vs active draw and estimates monthly cost. It builds a prioritized hit list of the worst offenders, suggests realistic fixes (power strip schedules, device settings, replacement only when payback is clear), and tracks savings over time. It avoids vague eco-advice by using your local tariff and your measured watts. The MVP focuses on a small set of high-impact device categories and simple automation rules rather than trying to be a full home energy platform.
