StockScout is a mobile + web app that shows near-real-time in-store availability for specific items at nearby retailers, with confidence scores and last-verified timestamps. Users search a product (barcode, keyword, or photo), pick a store, and see whether it’s likely on the shelf, in the back, or out of stock. The app blends three signals: user “shelf checks” (quick confirm/deny with photo), receipt/online order confirmations, and retailer pickup/ship availability where accessible. It then predicts stock freshness and suggests the best time to go. For shoppers, it reduces wasted trips for essentials, popular gadgets, and seasonal items. For power users, it supports watchlists, restock alerts, and route planning for multi-store runs. Monetization: subscriptions for alerts + power features, and retailer affiliate links for pickup/ship when in-store is unlikely.
