StockSense
StockSense is a web + mobile app for makerspaces to track consumables and small parts that constantly run out (filament, plywood, acrylic, bits, sandpaper, solder, fasteners). Instead of pretending you can do perfect inventory, it focuses on “good enough” stock awareness: quick barcode/QR scanning, default depletion rates per tool/job type, and simple reorder thresholds. Members can report low stock in 5 seconds, and staff get a prioritized restock list with vendor links and budget impact. The app also supports kit-building for classes (e.g., 12 Arduino kits) so instructors don’t discover shortages mid-session. It’s not glamorous, but it prevents the most common makerspace failure mode: wasted time, canceled workshops, and frustrated members because basics aren’t available.
