StopProof
StopProof is a mobile + web app that tells riders whether their next bus/train is likely to arrive, not just what the schedule claims. It combines official GTFS-Realtime feeds (when available) with crowd-sourced “vehicle spotted” pings and passive location sharing from opt-in riders to detect ghost vehicles, short turns, and service gaps. Instead of a single ETA, it shows a confidence score, last verified sighting, and a plain-language alert like “No recent vehicle signal—plan a backup.” Agencies often have incomplete or delayed real-time data; riders feel that pain daily. StopProof focuses on reliability at the stop level: which specific stops/routes are currently trustworthy, and which are failing right now. It also offers lightweight incident reporting (“bus skipped stop,” “packed full”) to help other riders make immediate decisions.
